A local resident recently stumbled upon a collection of vintage bottles in Lothian, Maryland, roughly 30 minutes west of Washington, D.C., and 40 minutes south of Baltimore. The accidental discovery includes a variety of antique containers that offer a glimpse into everyday life of the past.
Among the found items are old Milk of Magnesia bottles, glass milk bottles bearing the Fairfax Farms and Fairfax brand names, a vintage Listerine bottle, a bottle labeled Edmondson Drugs, and a syrup bottle of unknown origin.
The discoverer shared the find with PoPville in hopes of learning more about the items and their historical context. The bottles, likely dating back several decades, suggest ties to early 20th-century domestic and pharmaceutical use, reflecting brand names that once had significant regional presence.
Anyone with knowledge about these brands or the era they belong to is encouraged to share their insights.
