CLOQUET, Minn. – The Duluth Antique Marketplace, a well-known destination for vintage enthusiasts, has officially expanded to Cloquet, with the community gathering to celebrate its grand opening.
After successfully operating in Duluth for eight years, owner Joanne Leland had long envisioned expanding into new locations. The Cloquet expansion was completed in just two months, bringing a fresh shopping experience to antique lovers in the area.
Excitement was evident as eager customers waited in their cars early in the morning before the doors officially opened.
The Cloquet Antique Marketplace offers a variety of items, including home décor, vinyl records, and unique trinkets. Leland expressed enthusiasm about the new location, which she describes as having a more boutique-style ambiance compared to the larger, two-floor Duluth store.
“I wanted to explore other small towns outside of Duluth. Our Duluth store is much bigger, with two floors, and I wanted to create something with a more ‘boutique-y’ feel, which this location provides,” Leland said.
Local shoppers welcomed the addition, appreciating the convenience of having an antique marketplace closer to home.
“We love antiquing in small towns, discovering different styles, and supporting local businesses. It always feels like a treasure hunt,” said Kayce Gielski, a shopper at the Cloquet Antique Marketplace.
In addition to selling antiques, the shop also buys items from those looking to give their collectibles a new home.
The Cloquet Antique Marketplace is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
